• At The Slade School I studied sculpture,
photography, sound, film & video and performance.
My degree show consisted of
- photography using my self made cameras involving scanning
people whilst dragging the film past an open aperture
- a continuous sound piece generated on a BBC computer
- an eight metre boat made of mineral water bottles
• Whilst at the Slade I worked part time, and
after graduation full time, as a fine art technician for Momart Fine Art
handlers and at The Saatchi Collection, London. The work involved the installation,
removal and packing of art exhibitions, construction of site-specific installations,
the making of customised packing cases for the transport and storage of
works.
• On my arrival to Cork in 1990, I was production
manger for Graffiti, a touring theatre in education company, duties included
production management, set design and lighting.
I was then part of Meitheal Mara, a maritime resource and boat
building organisation specialising in currachs in Cork, as a participant
and then as C.E. supervisor.
I was a part time lecturer at Waterford Institute of Technology
visual art department on a performance art programme.
I teach photography at St. John’s Central College, Cork.
I am a member of the Arts Committee and on the board of directors for Sirus Arts Centre, Cobh.
